Jim has been with Brigham Exploration since inception. He worked in engineering and management positions for 17 years with Mobil and ExxonMobil and is Partner & Co-Founder of SEMBA Oil & Gas, LLC, a Permian non-op company. He was the VP of Technical Assurance and Director of International New Ventures with TNK-BP Moscow & Caracas.

Jim has a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas, a MBA from Southern Methodist University and a MS Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University. Jim is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
