Brigham Exploration Overview

Brigham Exploration (the “Company”) is a privately funded oil & gas company with assets in the Permian Basin. Founded in 2017, the Company has deployed a significant amount of capital through acquisitions and development. The Company primarily owns and manages non-operated oil & gas leasehold and has an operating arm with several producing wells. The Reservoir Engineering Tech will be an integral addition to the Engineering Team through support with existing entities and subsequent funds.

Position Summary

Brigham Exploration is seeking a highly motivated Reservoir Engineering Technician to join our Reservoir team. The tech role will be primarily responsible for maintaining the reserves database, supporting asset development efforts, and assisting in updates given to Management for internal and external presentations. A high level of proficiency in data management and manipulation is essential for the role.

The Reservoir team at Brigham Exploration comprises all key reservoir functions, including Corporate/Reserves, Corporate Development, and Asset Development. The Tech role will have broad exposure to many parts of the company and business dealings. The role will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance of the Corporate Aries Reserves database(s) and assist with semi-annual redeterminations with lenders and reserves auditor. Keep company inventory evergreen and provide support for well valuations as needed. (Aries experience required)

  • Collaborate with Geology, Land, Finance, and Accounting to ensure cross-discipline deliverables are being met. Deliverables may include LOE updates, accruals, well forecast sharing with other disciplines, Corporate Finance Model updates, and more

  • Support Reservoir Engineers with all other workflows as needed. May include support for slide generation/updates, data analysis, well forecasting, economic evaluations, and more

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex operational data effectively. A high-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Aries is required. Additional experience with SQL, Spotfire, and Enverus is preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as an engineering analyst will be considered in lieu of education qualification

Additional Details

Applicant to reside in Austin, Texas – Brigham Exploration’s headquarters. Relocation may be considered.
